The first consultation with The Skill Group included meeting with the business owner and discussing all of the challenges the business faced with acquiring more customers, marketing in general and the solar panel industry. During our initial consultation, I discovered that the Leigh-on-Sea-based solar panel company relied heavily on word-of-mouth referrals to attract new customers. While this approach had been effective, the business recognised the worrying risk of relying on a single source of leads and wanted to implement additional marketing systems to ensure a steady and predictable flow of new monthly enquiries. 

The other challenge the business faced was the challenge of extreme competition on price throughout the industry. This meant that in order to win work, the team had to lower their prices to compete against other installers which lowered profits, requiring the business to maintain a high volume of work in order to remain profitable.
